Morocco, the place where the brothers got their first impressions of Africa. Nice, hot, amazing, and very-very different from anything they had seen or experienced before. The northern part of Morocco is a rather green area with strange plants and insects. The size of the scorpions the brothers met was increasing as they walked south. But the biggest challenge was the cultural difference. In Europe they were the poor wanderers, who asked for food in restaurants, get some money and other support from locals. In Morocco they were—thought to be—the rich, white tourists, they were expected to support the poor Africans. Of course, their new clothes, tents and other equipment emphasized this image, although they didn't have too much money with them. Due to the walking, they had to go through the outskirts of the cities, the dirty, poorest areas, the parts western tourists never see. They were followed by kid-gangs asking for money or candy. Sometimes these kids bombarded them with stones. So it was a good training for the harder parts Africa. There were positive experiences as well: the delicous Moroccoan kitchen, nice people, beuatiful landscapes: WorldWalk photos on Flickr marked by the tag Morocco
